Children should be seen and not heard I’m praying that it’s true in heaven Praying for all I’m worth For those that have mastered the word And those who have reached age seven Have proven it’s not true on earth Silence is golden as time will tell and those of age its marvels seek But as soon as from the lip’s word’s fall Those ran ting’s and ravings and word’s they speak Children will change change gold to mud and sleet O where do’s it say that children must speak Why can’t they wait till there old and discrete? Till there mind’s are sharpened and at there peek So all of us elders the silence can reap Please give me the answer we all seek Aahh but alas there’s an evil afoot A secret device that silences our plea One look at that face all covered with soot Those eyes as dark and blue as the sea And all of our pains are rendered mute For what dad or mom could ask for more Seeing that mud drenched child standing in the door With a pout and an “I’m sorry’ etched in there face What utter humility and sorrowful grace God planed these reaction eons before I love you mom I love you dad More powerful than a knight with a sword Say’s the little one all covered in mud Such word’s from one so bad ‘I love you too’ and love make’s silence again ignored |
