I thought that it was time for some tongue-in-cheek humour.
I have just eaten some barbeque beef?
I have had worse in the past, but good grief,
It took me back to when I was a child.
My dear mother then had become quite wild
At the time it took me to chew my meal,
My jaws would really ache and I would feel
The stringy lumps and clumps would never end.
And this plane meal, many shivers did send
Down my spine, as I tried to cut the meat
But had to tear it in order to eat.

The barbeque sauce was peppercorn-hot,
It had a spicy tang and it was not
What I expected. The mash, beans and corn,
Would make any chef worth their salt, pour scorn
On these meagre offerings from the airline.
The roll was brick hard, but the cheese was fine.
How tasteless was the cold pasta starter?
The chocolate cookie I did barter,
Exchanged, with my neighbour, for extra cheese.
For the next meal, can I be asleep please?
