Letting go does not mean forgetting.
He used to hold
My dreams,
My thoughts,
The ends of my sentences.
Now he guards my memories,
Floating from
Late night movies
To goodbye kisses
To ice cream cones.
Letting go does not mean forgetting.
Letting go does not mean
I have to forget the way he made me feel,
It just means I am finally able to realize
The way he doesn’t make me feel anymore.
