Every star is a mystical, magical eye,
Hanging in the cradling comfort of a dark sky,
Singing to the moon a rhythmic melody;
A gently sighing, luminous rhapsody.
Envious rain clouds furtively cluster,
Desiring only to dull the beauteous luster
Of the softly shimmering, ghostly moon,
And to silence the stars' lilting croon.
But there's a silver lining for every cloud,
And even as the heavens they enshroud,
Their life-giving water caresses the earth,
Proving even their petty jealousies have worth.
