My poodle puppy Annie was constantly into mischief, chewing up everything in sight. This amused my African Grey parrot, Smokey, who would yell: "Bad dog Annie! Bad girl! Pretty bird Smokey!"
One week, my aunt stayed over. After warning her to keep all 'chewable' belongings above 'dog level', I went off to work.
Upon my return, I discovered the dog had chewed up my aunt's false teeth . After much laughter (and apologies), I said I hope she'd scolded Annie.
"I didn't say a thing", she claimed.
Returning from dinner out that night, we were greeted by the sight of shoes - scattered all over the floor, and chewed to pieces.
"Annie!" I yelled. "Stupid %#@*%* DOG!" screeched Smokey.
"Well,' my aunt confessed, red-faced, 'Maybe I did say a few things.'"
