poem on "explorations" for poetry contest. Critiques and compliments are welcome! |
Pure crystal light; entangled in strings Of sterling silver, sprung forth from tonight’s Heavenly orb, falling in rivulets like shiny tears, Precious tears spilled from a child’s eyes. And where Diana rides her night after night, through the midnight Veil, speckled with gems that twinkle and glitter. Spilled Across the darkness pinpricks of diamond dust sweep along With the midnight dance-along with a symphony of music that Sings and glows with luminosity in this Winter night. The breeze lifts attires off mahogany arms, bare with gnarled Fingers that reach and grasp where the breeze Sweeps and chants a magical poem; mesmerized leaflets flutter to The ground in excited dancing swirls, forming circles of forest glades Under Orion’s shiny light, his club raised to strike, and his belt to guide. Followed close on heels is imperial Sirius, burning fiery And constantly bright, who runs through the night like a dandelion, And it dances amid a field of magical flowers. A rosy blush blooms upon a soft pale cheek. An immortal flight Descends with immortal wings to the pair of hands that reaches Out, expectantly, to receive the gift from its welcome embrace. |
