One who watches from behind walls the work of God's Spirit is finally set free. |
I heard winds whistle, saw willows weep outside the keep where I must sleep, as water falls upon the deep beneath the falls outside my keep, . From castle window I have seen how many creatures there have been to drink the water from the deep beneath the falls outside my keep. There they find drink, near they find food, there they wash within the flood, lose dirt and pain within the deep beneath the falls outside my keep. Forth clean they come, as born anew the beast does walk, the bird flies true for there is life within the deep beneath the falls outside my keep, And giving ear from castle wall I hear trees whisper “Come one, Come all. Come taste the water of the deep” beneath the falls outside my keep. “Come wash yourself in water wet; come know the joy that you will get from drinking, washing, in the deep” beneath the falls outside my keep. And wanting but to heed the call of One Whose Spirit calls us all I fled my castle, left my keep, ran to the falls, entered the deep And felt my sorrows leave my soul and felt my soul and spirit whole; clean was I washed within the deep beneath the falls outside my keep. The Spirit loves the lost and kept and for their pain our Lord has wept, but in His arms, within that Deep I pray, kept evermore, I sleep. |
