Memories of the last moment |
BURIED ALIVE IN THE SHADOW: an acrostic Buried alive in death’s shadow, Unseen by all and out of sight, Rest in my heart memories which I cherish in a lonely night. Entwined in thoughts I so often Dream of that day, as yet alive; Athough much time has rolled by, that Last day in my heart does survive. I can well see those few moments, Veering when between life and death, Enquiringly she did me ask If time had come. It’s what I said: “No, don’t worry, I won’t marry, Though you never expressed this wish. How can some else now take your place? Envisage, never, can I this”. She kept quiet but I did know then, How well this was by her received. Anxiety now she had no more, Doubts about children were relieved. On this score satisfied was she. Wife dear was now, to leave me, free. • Written in abcb 8-8-8-8 format • Awarded second place in the contest "Invalid Item" where an acrostic had to be written around the prompt—“ Buried alive in the shadow”. • Written as per the concept described in "HOW TO WRITE AN ACROSTIC-acrostic,edpick" • ** Image ID #975473 Unavailable ** M C Gupta Created: 31 May 2005 |
