Another poem from yours truly, I just felt I had to write something.
A World of Magic

In another world, a wondrous place doth lay,
A place where peace rules and magic has it’s say,
Elves leap in trees, jumping from limb to limb,
Where kings are wise and magic lights places dim,
Human sages delve into archaic tomes,
With forests filled with pixies, nymphs and gnomes,
Druids worship under an open sky,
Free from houses, rooms and spires high,
Men clad in armour fight with swords of steel,
Where everyone feasts on an adequate meal.

This place sounds wondrous does it not,
Where people aren’t just simply left to rot,
Oh how fine it would be to live in this place,
Of evil and wickedness and sin there’s no trace,
No fear, no anger, no hatred, no crime,
They have bread to eat with water and wine,
With a law designed to protect the just,
A system where there are lawyers you can trust,
Where everyone has the right to speak,
Be they old and infirm or sickly and weak.

But this place is a fantasy and that it will stay,
While people like Bush, Mugabe and Blair have their say,
A world with pollution, poverty and oppression,
The only good thing is that it teaches us this lesson,
The people on top will crush those below,
Till they rise up and take from their foe,
Even then it would seem not all is right,
As the new ones on top will again take all that’s in sight.
It would seem that while there is an idea of order,
There will always be a very defined border,
Between those on the bottom and those on the top,
The bottom are the farmers, but the rich eat their crop,
The fruits of there labours feed those that have power,
And the taste of what’s left is bitter and sour,
Will this world ever truly be free?
Like the wind in the air or the flight of the bee,
While we accept this wrapped in ribbon and bow,
It will remain like this as humanity IS humanity’s foe.
