The Butterfly

The light shined
in the darkroom.
From it you appeared.

A grace so silent
and beautiful.
So light you are,
gliding by. I stop
to embrace your beauty.

The dazzling colors
of your dress, remind
me of nature's rainbow.

To be in your presence
is humbling. And makes
the darkroom seem different.

For the beauty you hold,
I will open the curtains.
So that the sunlight
will dance to your beauty more.

And then I will open
the windows, so you
again will show
the rest of the world
your beauty.
