Solo Gig

tis a temporary thing
this solo gig I'm starring in
one night at a time
one emotion at a time
sad threnody punctured
by slow guitar riffs

I figure it won't last long
this gig
my fifteen minutes of fame

patience patience
trilling sax moans
over keyboard chords

trumpet flares a high note
and drumbeats plod along
mix it all in to make a song

one extended solo gig of life
the star of my own show
my own sorrow
neon billboard shining bright

sad threnody
trailing riffs of guitar
sifting moans of sax
kissing chords of keyboard
droaning beats of drum

one shrill need of trumpet flare!

till
music
slow
fade

gig's over.
