Dark Night, Dark Memories

I commit to memory, the feelings of that dark night.

Forever will the feelings be a part of my essence.

The feelings of defenselessness, and nakedness live forever in my memory.

Nothing I can do to help myself.

In God’s hands did I rest, while you battered my mind, body and soul.

I prayed that I would live to see the coming day.

Thoughts of “why?” run rapid in my mind.

How could the one I love, hurt me so violently.

Maybe I will never understand the evil that lurked in you at that moment in time.

I maintain the virtue of my heart and will heal and grow as a result of your actions.
