Terrorists are Knocking


Terrorists are knocking at our door,
Knocking, knocking at our door.

It’s not the first threat we have faced
While presidents and kings have paced.

WWII, the last winning strategy in our past,
The ‘Greatest Generation’, they were cast.

All future victories have been laid to waste,
by Presidential decisions to retreat in haste.

In Vietnam we faced an enemy we did not understand.
And left us with 50, 000 dead and an empty hand.

Beirut was next our embassy burned. We did not prep,
Soon young Marines in barracks died while they slept.

“Desert One” was the name of the Iranian hostage taking
A botched mission that left the hostages forsaking.

Over Lockerbie a Pan-Am flight exploded in the night.
Many American casualties were taken without a fight.

Desert Shield, Desert Storm were fought to free Kuwait
Before taking Baghdad our President would hesitate.

We once controlled the Panama Canal, let Noriega rule.
We captured the rogue General to only loose a precious jewel.

The World Trade Center was first the target in 1993
A bomb in the basement, we could here the dying plea.

I was en route to Saudi, reservations at Kobar Towers.
My plane diverted, a bomb exploded, by extremist cowards.

The US embassy was first bombed in Nairobi, Kenya.
And then again they bombed the embassy in Tanzania.

In Yemen a small boat caused a gaping hole in the USS Cole.
Just another example of how these martyrs take their toll.

Recent history has seen the American casualties soar.
Terrorism threatens all of us whether we are rich or poor.

“Terror in London” the news headline cries
The latest attacks are upon our British allies.

The resolve of the civilized world will not deter
by cowardly acts of terror, of this I am sure.

We have all lost a family member, a friend, an acquaintance.
Care for the wounded, morn the dead, be vigilant hence.

May these attacks make us stronger of will.
Solidarity, no mater how steep the hill.

To the Spanish, French and British we say.
Terror will not win, it will come to an end, we all pray.
