How sad that dinosaurs were just giant alligator birds. One of childhood's delirious wonders, corralled by reason into the goodbye pen.

Must all such extravagant dreams dissolve in science water?

What hope for love? Maybe that first crystal kiss is just prelude to a big fiction. A flutter of lips yielding a one-time sense of the perfect happy, but no more. Weigh the risk. Too many mocking chances will drain even a deep boy to his last tears.

Sure, one can hope to see dinosaurs walking, and true love besides, but, sadly, the sky is pig clear... except in stories.
