My Americanized name is John Peter, but I was born Jean-Pierre in the center of France farmland. My first ten years were blissful and carefree, just enjoying being alive. Moving to Chicago in 1955, the culture shock was palpable. Now retired, I am trying to communicate what my life experiences have taught me in the hopes others can avoid some of the many mistakes I have made.
