Poet Deborah Jo Brooks-Langford was born in Gastonia, NC July 1951. She was the oldest of eight kids. My Father Floyd Was a soldier in the US ARMY. His people were from Cherokee Hills of NC the Cherokee Indians. My mother's people came from the England. I went to High School, In Columbia SC. Those were some good years. I always like to write but never thought I could do anything with it. But after wanting to understand the things that happened to me when I was young I started putting pen to paper and couldn't stop.
