I come from a small town in the south suburbs of Chicago, and grew up playing hockey. I was, by all means, being the "normal" jock type that thought a player could change the world. But, I shed the jock strap for a pen. This wasn't how my life was supposed to turn out. Something changed along the way because of one person. Her name is Beth. The greatest teacher I ever had. She encouraged me to write. And that one person changed my world forever.
