I am more interested in writing poems mainly because I'm an introvert and there are some things I find hard to express or even discuss w/ friends but can't keep to myself such that poetry becomes my channel. I've always fancied writing poems since I was little and they've always been about things I loved and my feelings. Recently though I've been writing less because I've been caught up with lots of readings for my pre-med course, Biology. This almost turned me into a robot who did nothing but recite all the members of a phylogenetic tree. Good thing we had a World Literatures course and this kept me human and reawakened my love for poetry.
