The Innocent is written from the point of view of the reporters that watched the Gary Thibodeau trial unfold in 1994/1995. It is based off fact, evidence and any trial and hearing information. It is a story of a missing girl, Heidi Allen. There was always question as to if Heidi was a CI for the Sheriff's and if she vanished in 1994 because an officer had exposed her Informant status, not once but twice. Gary Thibodeau was convicted in 1995, with no DNA, no evidence of any kind. FBI says Gary didn't do it. But another man did. 23 years later Gary is fighting for his freedom. He was sentenced to 25 years to life.
