Bard - someone from the ancient Celtic order of poets, a storyteller, oral historian Firbolg - ancient inhabitants of Ireland long before the Celts Druid - a member of a Celtic religious order of priests, judges, fortune tellers and poets. Brehon- a judge, attorney, arbitrator of old Celtic law Pooka - a fairy spirit who appears in the shape of an animal Amergin - legendary Druid, one of the sons of Mil Hurling - a game dating back to the days of the ancient Celts, somewhat resembles Field Hockey Brian Boru - first and only High King of a United Ireland Grace O'Malley- female pirate, contemporary of Elizabeth I of England Uillean Pipes Irish Bagpipes Wolfe Tone "Father of Irish Nationalism" Dolmen- ancient grave marker, stone tomb Molly Maguires - secret agrarian society 1835-1855 |
