Dementia, and loss of a partners faculties.

REFLECTIONS
(Living and losing a spouse to Dementia).

In her eyes I feel her pain
In her voice I feel her shame
In her presence, I feel at ease
In her words, she's not for me
In her laugh my torments cease
In her touch I am at peace
In her thoughts I don't exist.
In my thoughts she's sorely missed
In my sleep I dream of her
In my voice the days that were
In my truths I seek her trust
In my eyes it is a must
In my days my silence seeps
In my night my soul it weeps
In my heart she's lost to time
The love we shared now left behind.
