Beyond the river, their is a stream,A quiet place for all who dream.

Beyond the river lie's a stream
A quiet place for all to dream
Laying amongst the wild grass
Time stands still as hours pass

Fishing pole and a baited hook
I sit in silence to read my book
Captivated in my author's craft
Humbled by his linguistic path

This poets speaks in riddled rhyme
A picture painted in a single line.
Resting now his words at play
I thank the heavens for this day.

Looking to the waters edge
Dragon flies take their pledge
Taunting man, and the trout
The baited line is what is found.

A sudden burst, hook now set
Man and fish place their bets
A quick head shake, a heavy run
The hook set free, the bet is won

Bested by a true old friend
Until tomorrow, I'll get him then.
