Can we learn spiritual lessons from a spider? Or by our on actions toward everyone we meet |
The stranger in my presence by Hollis Frances My morning routine is all set. I pray, sip tea and watch TV. Then, read the Word, my spiritual food, a blessed way to set my mood. For if I meet a stranger this day, I’ll show His kindness to lead his way. Kindness to a stranger is to serve Him best, and pass His kindness test. I met a stranger this very day, surprisingly he was in MY way. So startled was my soul that I quickly grabbed a napkin off the table, then squashed that spider since, I am able. I did not reflect before my actions, that my Master would reject such passions. For if I would have paused and asked; “Why you are here in this fashion?” That stranger, the little spider would likely quip, “my apologies, oh man of God, I ask for compassion. The door was open so I crawled in, my mistake! I turned to quickly my steps’ retake. But you shut the door before my act. Now I’m trapped and at your mercy apt”. What guilt I feel for MY heinous act, this sinful door in which I now cracked, too late for me to take it back. I am that spider now, oh yes! With my own mercy quest, for to Him I've failed, MY kindness test! |
