My mother lived in a trailer in Bishop, California. She bought a white kitten in 2018. I named her Luna. When Luna got older, she had kittens. One of those kittens grew up to have a litter of her own, and this is her story.
Someone notified city workers that feral cats were living on my mom’s property. The workers came to take the feral mother cat and her kittens to get fixed. (This means they were spayed and neutered.) They caught her and the kittens and put them in a cage.
When they were at the facility, the feral mama cat somehow escaped with her kittens and made her way back to my mom’s trailer, with her kittens! How this was possible is beyond me, I’ve heard of animals doing amazing things but this is incredible.
Because of her achievement, I decided to name the feral mama cat Farrah, as a play on the term feral.
Update: My mother passed away in November 2024, so I don’t know what happened to the cats.
