The one that matters most
Safe to say this election means more to me than any other in my 44 years of life, and I hope and pray that Kamala wins.

I truly want us all to move forward together. I want the hills and mountains of Kentucky and West Virginia, the “mountain mama” that John Denver sang about, to be more diverse. These are beautiful places but they are less diverse than the rest of the country. Anyone can love trees, mountains, rivers, and the ancientness of life. Human life and the world are ancient even as cultures evolve and change.

Our 3,000 year old religious texts may grow and change too, just as they themselves were changed from the 3,000 years that preceded them.

I trust humanity and myself enough to put distrust aside and put the will to live and succeed first. Love you.

I still love and embrace everyone, including my family who disagree. Please try to put yourself in a place where you can understand and be strong facing the future, instead of afraid. I’ve been enjoying “Long, Long, Time,” by Linda Ronstadt, and this cover by Brandi Carlile, as it matches my mood. We won’t all convince each other of everything but we need to not stop loving each other (or trying to love each other).
