A man is running through a field, inexplicably deaf
You choke on the smoke. You squint at the blinding flashes of light. But still you hear nothing, and he's still running. He's chasing. You can't tell if he's gaining on you. Jesus you hope not. Why can't you hear anything?

Don't stop running!

Ignore the smoke. Avoid the flashes. Ignore the choking.
Just keep running.

Is he gaining on you?

Fuck. He might be. You need to breath deeper to run faster but you can't catch your breathe with all this damn smoke.

Why can't you hear??

He's getting closer.

A flash goes off right in front of you. It launches you into the air. You feel the heat of the bomb. The fire burns your face. Maybe it got him too?

You land hard on the soft grass. Now you remember why you can't hear. A bomb had gone off right beside you just before the enemy appeared. Maybe this one got him too and you won't need to run anymore.

You lie in the grass. Trying to catch your breathe. Are your eyes open?

Are your eyes open??

They are.

Why can't you see?
