Ireland Calls

Diane relished the Irish sea breeze, knowing her holiday was ending.

She slipped on her shoes and walked back to the inn.

As she dialed for room service, a voice said, “Dees, you’re thinking of staying in Kerry, aren’t you?”

Diane’s mind was racing.

“Mum? How, where are you?”

“Follow your heart, Dees.”

“Wait, I don’t,” but Mum was gone.

Diane was thinking of staying since she had no family left. Mum died last year.

She still thought about that call, impossible as it was, as she moved into the little blue cottage by the sea.

“Thanks, Mum.” Diane smiled.
