Widower's Request
After breath is gone
when you reach your promise due
come back - I am drawn
to be with you

​together
sharing joys we missed
you will find me in hot weather
knowing why my face feels cool and kissed

​I will know your fingers
when the wind plays with my hair
I will not look in dark corners
you will not be there

​I shall be careful holding you close
so when your songbirds sing - believe I hear
recall how this tender poem goes
for I shall be near
