A poem about my inner lil guy and his fight to be acknowledged again
Born into innocence
Bred in love

Forever playing with the wind and the stars

Given the gift the Divine
Full in his heart

Everyone was a friend
No one unworthy of attention
Of compassion
Of connection

The planet has made it's journey around the sun
Many times since

And now, with wounds and scars
This playful soul is contained

Captured in a cage with the wolf who arose

Yet he still laughs
And his purity tames the wolf
Calms the wind into a gentle breeze

From deep down the child reaches up
Waiting to be lifted
Held
Heard at all

The days do a great job of keeping him hidden
Beneath work
Beneath responsibilities
Breathe cooking dinner and washing dishes

But he is not dead.
Just waiting

God speaks for him if one cares to listen

And so is life.

A soul begging joy
And it's not refused on entry

Such as it is
The child lives on.
