The poem demonstrates a teen's mind of feeling left out of a friend group.
Just there. Just there when you would make a joke only you and Her get and laugh.
Just there when you would gossip and I'm the last to know.
Just there when you would replace my presence with someone else's personality.
I was not the friend, I was just there.
Just there when you would share the same makeup.
Just there when you both needed each other.
Just there when you left me out.
I was not the friend, I was just there.

And You knew.
You knew I wasn't the friend.
You knew I wasn't the friend.
You knew I was just there.
I'm a fool, I admit.
I saw all the signs and still persevered.
Like a baby bird learning how to fly.
I persevered.
Then I got burned in the end.
And here I am, alone again.
Just sitting here.
