There was a little girl called Sally that lived in the big city. Sometimes she would go and visit Grandma in her little cottage in a small town in the country. Here she would play with her imaginary friends the fairies and their Fairy Mother all day long. Because there were no fairies in the big city where she came from but in Grandma's pretty little country garden full of flowers and trees and green, green grass there were always plenty of wonderful fairy creatures to be found such as dwarfs and garden gnomes. There were always many fairies under the bushes and magic little trees to play with as her best friends. She loved the Fairy Mother and her whole faerie folk out in the country. She would play all day and when the sun went down in the late afternoon she would run into the house and tell Grandpa of her wonderful day filled with fairies and flowers out in the lovely little garden. ‘It is just her imagination Fred,’ Grandma would say to Grandpa ‘Like a child she is making the whole thing up.’ And Grandpa would nod his head and smile in wonder too. This made Sally a little sad that her Grandma said that she was just a little girl playing little games of fancy out in the garden all day. She would be tucked into bed after supper and soon she was soundly asleep in blissful slumber. She dreamed deep dreams of wonder all night and in the middle of her dark and magical dream filled slumber, the wonderful Fairy Mother did indeed appear to her. Because although fairies were not found in the real world she knew, they always lived in the magical world of dreams and wonder of the great beyond. Here the Fairy waved her magic wand and asked little Sally ‘Would you like to be a fairy to little one?’ ‘Oh, yes. I would love that most of all.’ She said deep in her dreams of fantasy and wonder. ‘Then I now proclaim you, little Sally, as an honorable member of my fairy tribe forever. To live and love among us and to never be parted from our magic world ever. Your wonderland name will be Sally the Moon Princess forever more.’ And she waved her magic wand and the little girl became one of the magic fairies in her dreams for all time to come. When she awoke the next morning with a great big yawn of blissful sleep, she knew she now lived and loved in her own world of wonder among the fairies and flowers, and she vowed never to tell a soul, not even Grandma herself. After all, who would ever believe her? And Princess Sally lived in happiness ever after.
