Good News Abounds!

The road to the land of Dreams Come True was long and arduous. Everything I have ever wanted came at great cost to me, and those I love. But here I sit with heaps of goodness, ripe for sharing with all of you.

I have been absent from this wonderful space on the internet for quite some time while we navigated homelessness due to the wildfires in California, finding new housing, moving and settling, but at the end of the marathon, I gained SO MUCH.

We are slowly unpacking and adjusting to combining two households into one harmonious place. There have been many days of really hard emotions, but also bits of joy that have led us here. I can finally breathe a little and begin to write more, which came by way of the insistence of my therapist, who urged me to get back on the horse and try again.

So here we are.

On February 24th, my partner and I attended a one man comedy show, performed by my partner's friend, Mitch Silpa, who is an actor best known for his performance as the flight attendant in the HILARIOUS movie Bridesmaids. Mitch's body of self produced work has provided so much comedic relief for us in the past few months.

His role as a comedian has become a very important part of our lives, and because of that, I hatched a plan to conspire with Mitch to surprise my partner, as we attended his show to celebrate our one year anniversary.

At the end of his show, Mitch called for my partner to stand in front of the audience, and he introduced him to the crowd, then explained that I had something to say. Through a shaky voice, I told my partner that I loved him very much and...

I asked him to marry me! And of course, he said YES, and the theater ERUPTED with applause and shouting. One of the first in the series of congratulations and well wishes came from none other than the actress Melissa McCarthy, who was in attendance with her husband, the actor Ben Falcone.

I am the happiest I have ever been in my entire life. In between unpacking, and arranging our new home, I am now in the beginning stages of planning our wedding, which will hopefully happen Thanksgiving weekend. The wedding party has been chosen and notified. My oldest brother will walk me down the aisle. Rick's family is OVER THE MOON, and everyone is genuinely excited for our wedding.

I would love it so much to share the plans with ass of you, as it happens. I am planning on starting a new folder here that will be dedicated to the wedding.

The world could use a little more love and joy.
