in this day and age, how many are dead yet still walk among us? |
Are you, by chance, waiting for a notification? For that photo or story you posted perhaps out of desperation? No shame in wanting to be noticed, it's not a sin to have that desire yet once it consumes your soul it will then spread on to your body like a wildfire Making you in the process like a doll with few moves to do "Press like", "comment", "share" and casually watch short videos too But dear doll, who is pulling your strings at the moment? Is it a rich man with millions to his name, resting on an island while enjoying a pricy donut? Or a businesswoman investing billions on ads to keep you trapped in a digital torment? You're such a precious doll indeed, for them to spend so much on you However, a doll is a doll no matter what it does, that much will always hold true How did you get here? for what reason did you trade your precious life? What does a virtual world offer, so much you would forsake yourself, your parents, siblings, children, husband or wife? There is still enough beauty for everyone in this world, despite the cruelty it has And things may not always go as planned, but to live and not be shattered, one is ought to be stronger than glass So, embrace the world and cut you strings, O dear doll Choose again what to do and where to go, maybe start by taking a stroll See life for yourself, not through the lens they gave you for some money and if you still have love by then: walk through the door and say "let's go out dear", or "honey" So much of us claim to be alive and free Yet in fact they are dead slaves, and for their slavery: they're actually paying a fee.. |
