nothing bad with being nice, unless that is all you have |
Life started with nothing but plants and trees covering the land Some even towered above the rest, covering miles on end in a sight so grand Then nature did its selection, with some being eaten while others were cut down Survival of the fittest began, and the new rules through time became known Fastforward and then we humans arrived, the Ragnarök of wildlife itself Stomped on every helpless plant and animal in the name or progress, pushing them back to a dusty old shelf Even flowers, with their beauty, were not spared We squeezed the life out of them to smell better, that is why about them at first, we cared Now look at us, and see how we resemble those plants and those flowers We're born innocent at first, enjoying a lot of hugs, love and showers Then in schools we're taught some "basic" rules, among which is said:" Your score is what matters" And it does not take long after that before we enter the race of life where, aside from money and status, no one bothers You're either a wolf eating both red and green Or a flower living only to be smelled, used or seen One where you're the predator living on fear While the other you're a potential prey who can easily be controlled with fear The sad reality is that flowers as we mentioned: end up as victims easily Whether it is by choice or through force, the very majority end up with the same destiny But what good is there in being a wolf? what life are you living if it's all about survival? In that scenario what is the use of your heart, if you're willing to be the monster in that cruel cycle? I say be a flower! but make your Thorns sharper and longer than swords Make them stronger than the fangs of a wolf, ready to deflect the malice of those who think of themselves as lords And as a flower be elegant, in mind and soul before body It is both a gift for others and you, if only you know it, my buddy |
