The introduction to the first book I ever wrote, and the advent of my favorite characters. |
"What do you remember?" "She was trapped under something." The memories are harsh, shattered and unclear, but less foggy than the last time they asked her. "She...She's struggling to breathe, and she can't get out. Something sharp is coming out her back, but she can't bleed to death because she can't get it out. She can't even die." {{/i}The man in the light is like a shadow, barely visible. the light hurts her head. I think he is the one who is pretending. Like the doctor, who wanted to hurt her They didn't think it mattered that it hurt, because I was just the means to answer questions. She has a headache, but every time she shields her eyes, the man calmly says look at me, "Honestly that's a lot. I don't know where to start." He stops speaking, and the bright light still obscures him. "Why do you speak in the third person." "..." "Do you know why?" That question makes no sense at all. No response makes any sense other than a shake of the head. "Well then, continue on." "She passed out at some point, and she found herself in a white room. For some reason, she was afraid. The white jackets were...Familiar...In a bad way. She hit them, and ran, and then..." "Then you were picked up by us." "No. That was later. She...She ran from people. It was...six brights, and seven darks.. She...Yin was hurt over and over. The black van was...Nice. it was warm, and no one was hurting her. Then, Yin came here." "Did you just remember your name?" "Yes." "And you're happy to be here? That's how much better it is." "She is, yes." "So, do you know anything about your ears, or that tail? Why do you have them. Were you fully human once, or were you born like that." That doesn't make any sense. it's all blurry from back then, and it's unclear what that even means. Fully human? Born? "She doesn't know. "Hey. No worries. You'll remember in time. For now, we are going to bring you to a nice house, full of people like you." The man behind her shoves the hood over yin's head again, and She's pulled out of the room again. It's so far. but it's smooth rock the whole way. She's really comfortable. It's like the rock of the room From the dreams., but warmer, and less hard and smooth. Less like the strange wall there. The wall that looked like the same as everything else, but backwards. The hard place is here, they bring her back inside the hard place again, and we move again. No one says a word. |
