What might have been after in Tolkien Lore

Unfinished Sagas in the age of men
Would Sauron have regained form
Or Morgoth ridden the great storm:
Perhaps Sauraman spoken from death?

Were ents still hidden in dark dells;
Ancient craft perverted from the elves?
Rings of power or other artifacts-
How could blood of Numenor interact?

The second age it did fade
When up rose a secret darkened shade.
Blue Wizards or orcish clan
What darkness marred the land?

After departure of those who knew
Past Aragorn and scholars few
Into a time long fortold
A last battle for men's soul.

Thirteen pages and old tales;
Who's song would prevail
Outer darkness strained cold chains
Desperate cries upon the waves
