Entry for 'Share Your Faith' contest--April |
Where I live, some ruins still stubbornly resist the flow of time One of which used to be the entrance to a castle, though now it's way past its prime With only two pillars remaining from it, ones where I casually stop when passing by To enjoy a beautiful view from above, for the place is located somewhere high Such a beautiful scene it is: the road extending down below seemingly endless, with grass left and right While the horizon is stretching ahead under scattered pink clouds, turning sunset into a sweeter sight And sometimes the winds come racing through, crashing with the palm fronds nearby Imitating the sound of waves near the sea, in a perfect demonstration of harmony What a bliss it is to have such moments of peace, and to be able to enjoy them for even seconds Yet even when given an eternity I wouldn't have enough of them. like tasty meals: you'd always ask for seconds Still, the best part has always been the realization once I come across such beauty The fact that I was there to enjoy them and the fact they exist in the first place are all plans of the one who matters truly The one who gave me life, and gave life colours so we can sense his presence through The one who defined beauty, and whose beauty is absolute and will always remain true The one who painted the endless canvas of existence, with scenes that spark wonder and hope The one we admire his works but barely thank enough, despite their abundance across our globe Nature has always spurred gratitude in me, before love and curiosity The gratitude for being alive, for being well and for being here to contemplate its beauty From the birds and their singing that the soothes the soul To the roses that grace the fields with their scent, ever so noble Thank you for it all, dear god, and may you grace us with more blessings Accept my most sincere feelings and admiration, if you may, as I dedicate this to you: the greatest and the original artist Lines: 22 words: 346 |
