Who's to blame and who we name are very often not the same

It's always someone else's kid, someone else's fault
Someone else's dirty business, someone else's job

There's faces on the billboards and the sheriff on the ballot's on the case
But so was last year's sheriff, and he would have looked more closely
but he had a lot of signs to plant to get himself elected new DA

It's always someone else's fault, someone else's kid,
Till the headstone says, "He raised his hands; cops say he never did."
