A gift given at birth ,and its relationship to the child in early youth

TEDDY

From the day I joined the earth
A gift you were at my birth
Nestled against my virgin skin
I hugged you tight and breathed you in

Warm and soft you keep me safe
For in the nights the monsters wait.
Morning comes, I find you near
Hand in fur, the darkness clears.

Sun light dances across my crib
Mother calls and our day begins
In hungers lust we end our fast
With breakfast served we take a bath

Duck in hand and bubbles bright,
We splash and play in morning light.
Day by day, you’re by my side,
A faithful friend, my constant guide.

Through every joy and every tear
My teddy bear, you’re always near
Years may pass, but still you stay
A cherished friend, so come what may.
