September 11th, 2001 happened. It left me with many questions and many ideas. Thoughts.. |
On September eleventh, two thousand and one, the world trade centers were crashed into by hijacked planes. The twin towers collapsed. They crashed another one into the Pentagon, and world trade center number seven also went down. New York has now been changed. The United States will probably be at war in some time. I was in school at SUNY Farmingdale, New York. A girl came up to my friend Steven and I in a panic. She said that two planes just crashed into the twin towers and that her mother worked there. She was worried. It struck me as a movie. But it was real. I went to class thinking about what this girl just said and it didn't sit right with me. It just sounded weird. I felt anxious and not able to focus. When class was over, I went to the cafeteria in Knapp hall. All I saw was a bunch of people in front of each television watching the Twin Towers collapse. They were crashed into by a plane each, and then they both fell one at a time. Another girl came up to my friend Ray and I saying both of her parents worked there and she was in a running panic. Ray was in the Marines at that time. In hindsight, and even while watching, the physics of how and what happened didn't fully make sense to me. It still doesn't...Unless you shared the theory that they pre-set things to blast off certain other things from within as they did with their first attempt... In those two minutes of time, thousands of people died. Innocent people were crushed and suffered more loss than anyone should have to deal with in any one or many lifetimes. Millions of lives were changed and impacted. HIStory has been altered. Meanwhile, in the other country that does not like the United States, they were all cheering and happy. Proud that they got one of the biggest sights in the world. New York City. It's going down in their minds and they love the idea. How sick this is, I feel sick to my stomach. But whose videos were those? Legit? From what country? Maybe it was an inside job... Human beings should not have to bomb each others homes to settle their conflicts. We have the ability to sit down and come to an agreement. What is this going to lead to and where will I be? Things like this happen not every single day, but on the large scale, in the world, at no specific interval, but they do. September 11th made me aware to the idea that we are never ready for what's coming, no matter how prepared we think we might be. So how now, do you go about and live life? Should we be scared to go outside to go to work because we are scared of each other and that we may get bombed or shot or hit by someone else for a reason unbeknownst to us nor even justified or "right"? Stay living in fright? How about we continue to seize the days and live our life, fearlessly, kindly, authentically, and really? |
