Anna inspired by pinterest keeps trying to make everything perfect. |
Anna adored her house, a pale green bungalow with white trim. It was her dream home and she wanted to make it her own. She spent hours on Pinterest scouring over DYI projects and pinning inspiring photos. At first she had asked Scott, her husband, to help but he had no motivation. She would have to do them on her own. She had watched videos of women on social media wielding power tools with ease. The problem no matter how much she tried her projects never looked as good as the photos. The lamp was the worst. The goal was to turn a cheese grater into a light. It was far cheaper to make one and it actually looked great, but began to smoke when she tried to use it. Scott was furious and claimed her DYI’s were not worth a house fire. He angrily whispered, “Don't do it again”. Anna took it as no more projects involving electrical wiring. All her projects were flawed but that was not going to stop her. Today she was putting up Christmas lights. She pushed the ladder against the front of the house. Her plan was to add icicle lights to the roof. She climbed the ladder and realized it wasn't quite high enough and balanced on her tiptoes, but the ladder started to wobble. “Fudge”, she shouted and grabbed the top of the ladder and shut her eyes. The ladder stopped moving and she quickly climbed down. She turned around to see Scott. “Our you trying to kill yourself?” he shouted and then stormed inside. He hadn’t even asked if she was okay. Right then she made a plan: first get a taller ladder, second get a divorce and she was positive she would find helpful ideas on Pinterest. |
