to you who tried to move mountains, yet it was still not enough. join me in this poem

(for context, any writing i post on WDC, including this one, is first written with pen and paper)

You held on for long, for too long probably
You did what you can, yet the outcome seems to have destroyed all your hopes sadly
If that's the case then rest, now you take a much needed and deserved breath
Now you throw back all your fears and thoughts, throw it all out the window and preserve what's left of your health
I'm sorry things did not go the way they should have, I get that your frustration is real
I'm sorry for your lost time and effort, which were met by disappointment so big it drained the force of your knees, forcing you to kneel
Now is not the time to speak of recovery
Now is not the time to even think of being happy
Now is only time to rest
So lay down, you fought well. cherish what you have left, be proud of yourself for surviving your test
And for now, lay whatever concerns left to rest
I dedicate this ink to you my friend
May your struggle usher forth a new beginning, and put the painful past to an end
