a short poem about break ups...

Rainy Days Ahead

The darkened clouds have all aligned.
The air, too thick to breathe.
Your stomach churns and turns and burns.
Your broken heart recedes.

People tell you who to love.
And you on your knees believe.
The one is close, but is not you.
Daydreamers can deceive.

Forever friends will lie to you.
Secrets, you already know.
Who’s that creeping up to you?
And why they creep so slow?

Never thirst your ex-friend’s friend.
Aware of where they’ve been.
They could be shady in defense.
To hurt them is a sin.

Prayers will help you make it through.
Your enemies have fled.
You may decide you like the sun.
But there are rainy days ahead.
