Friends, this essay is meant to provide you with food for thought. Thanks.

Friends,

Greetings and prayers for your happiness.

Here are a few points to ponder please:

1. Sometime ago, I read the book, “The Toyota Way,” and thereby became familiar with a Japanese term, “Kaizen.”

2. This term is a combination of two separate words, “Kai” and “Zen,” which mean ‘to change” and “for the better” respectively. Therefore, taken together, “Kaizen” means “to improve.”

3. Now, this philosophy finds its widespread application in industry, where it stands for making tiny, incremental changes on a continuous basis.

4. In fact, the whole TQM (Total Quality Management) movement is based on the “Kaizen” philosophy. Its benefits are well-documented in numerous business books.

5. However, adopting the “Kaizen” philosophy has startling benefits for our personal lives, too.

6. Because then, instead of living life just reacting to its daily pulls and pressures, we adopt a new mindset of living.

7. This new way of living involves deliberately finding tiny opportunities to make our lives better and continuously acting on them. We all will admit that such opportunities are available to us 24/7.

Taking such voluntary, tiny actions of betterment on a regular basis can have only one result in the long haul: a fulfilling life.

Thanks for reading my essay.

Warm Regards,
Essayist
