St. Patrick's Day is a feast day for the Saint commemorating the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. According to a Wikipedia entry Lenten restrictions on alcoholic beverages are lifted for the day.It also says there were never any snakes in Ireland.

The history of St. Patrick on Wikipedia was interesting. Erie holds a parade in the Saints honor and green beer is served in the pubs. However, that's quite a few miles to the North of me. And, piles of snow are between here and there plus, I really don't care.

Sometimes I see the parade on local TV news. If it is a snowy day I wonder why anyone would march down a cold concrete street or drink green beer. Lucky Irish, today is a sunshiny day, the first in a week or more.

Then, I found some recipes for green cupcakes with creme cheese frosting. That made sense. I did not wear green today. But, I have a green jar and some green highlighters on my desk - I hope that counts. *Laugh*
