The Joys of Communication
To write a poem joyful 'tis
in many, many ways.
Relief of heart and peace it gives
on levels that amaze.

But when the poem causes angst
because it isn't plain,
I feel the "golf ball's" slightly shanked
and meaning won't retain.

Why can't we see the title shows
the meaning of the piece?
The body builds as purpose grows
to paint it and release.

I am not brash to say these words
as truly from my heart.
They fly away as little birds
to illustration start.

Mayhaps the truth is plainly seen
as under my own nose.
My pride's been ruffled and I'd preen
to straighten all of those.

The background of this poem is another poem I wrote last night that was misunderstood as to intent. I gave the title, "The Sin of Pride." I wrote according to a contest prompt of "seven lines of seven words each on one of the Seven Deadly Sins." The body of the poem was intended to be an extreme illustration of the title. Apparently, someone thought this was my own personal set of beliefs.

Misunderstanding abounds in that...I must say.

Read the poem for yourself in tandem with the explanation poem above. It hope it will be quite illustrative.

Here is yet another signature, that has been provided for me by my good friends, WS & GG.
