I have neglected this blog for quite awhile but want to update it more frequently this year. Last night I went the Wellington Waterfront and watched the fireworks display celebrating Chinese New Year - The year of the Pig. (Quite spectacular to say the least)

Read and finished "The Darkest Evening of the Night" by Dean Koontz. Started off good and ended in an interesting way but seemed to drag a little in places. There was a lot of almost needless description that killed the momentum of the story but there were also lots of good action. I wouldn't put in on my Favourite books list but it kept me mildly entertained.

Presently reading "The Hardway" by Lee Child - 10th book in the Jack Reacher Series, (fifth book I have read). It is about Jack Reacher being assigned to help solve a kidnapping. Reading it out of order but each book is a different assignment. There is an advantage to reading them in cronological order to cross reference certain events. The Hardway seems quite good so far, on page 207 at present. See how it ends up. My guess is Jack will not die in the story as he features in the next eight books including Lee Child's recent "Midnight Line".
