Something I wrote about inner beauty
A lot of times it matters to people
How you dress and how you look
Yet it doesn't matter if you're smart or not
Or if you've ever read a book.
Sometimes people only like you
If you're "beautiful" or "pretty"
But I don't think that matters very much
If you're already "smart" or "witty".
I think inner beauty matters
More than if you have the latest trends
If that's all people care about
Then with them I don't want to be friends
I don't understandy why you're made fun of
If you're wearing last year's "thing"
Or if you like Broadway and theatre
And instead of sports you like to sing.
There are so many shallow people
Who think beauty is only skin deep
So if the "populars" don't consider you beautiful
They will make you cry yourself to sleep.
That's not very fair, but oh well!
There's absolutely nothing you can do
Except find and stay close to real friends
And I believe it could be you!
What's your interpretation of beauty?
Is it looks or is it what's within?
That decision is left up to you
But for me, it's what you can't see under your skin...
