I've started writing the 2nd book of the Alyson series
I'm definitely looking forward to where the story takes me. -Moonie |
I've finally finished the 2nd edit and returned it to my portfolio!!
|
Once more I have found myself writing the day away. I've been diligently working on the 2nd edit of The Dream Realm. Of course I have taken several breaks. I had an hour appointment and have been doing little chores around my apartment. I'm just now fixing something to eat and then have to take a walk to the pet store. After that I plan on editing some more. Probably until bedtime. |
I would like to say thank you to Amethyst Angel🌸📝🪽 and tracker for reviewing
Your reviews were very insightful with many awesome suggestions that I am definitely going to use for my 2nd edit. Blessings to you both- Moonie |
I've added The Adventures of Alyson Whitecraft back to my portfolio. The first book in the series is there as well. Graham B. Here's the 1st edit that I finished.

I was walking and of course listening to my playlist. A song that I haven't heard in years came on and I was blown away. It perfectly described what's going on in my life at this point. Since I'm not sure of copywrite laws I'm not going to post the lyrics. It is available on Spotify if anyone would like to listen. "Sunny Came Home" by Shawn Colvin |
A sincere thanks for the suggestions on calming my mind when I'm finished wriring for the day. Magnolia I loved the idea and the humor of the reply!! Last night I sat on my patio for a bit and listened to Mother Nature's voice. When I came back to my room, I lit lavender incense and opened Soft Murmur on my laptop, setting it to play a thunderstorm. This worked out great. Thanks again- Moonie |
I have a question for everyone that will read this post. How do you disengage your mind from being in writing mode? I worked on a story from 6am until 7pm and now I can't turn off the creative mode that I've been engulfed in all day. Any advice or technique shared will be extremely appreciated. Blessings to all- Moonie |
Stand in the shower and scream until you are breathless. Creativity is a vast, thrumming engine and it has to be geared down to a soft idle. *smile*. Of course warn anyone who may hear you that you are not being stabbed to death. They are not to call 911 !! Or you can use the scream into a pillow trick…but not as effective as pounding water on your head. |
Cook something. A new recipe or something. I know at 7pm, that's crazy. Fry an egg? |
Honestly, personally I would just ride that wave and use that creativity to work on something else. If you're mentally and/or physically exhausted (and cannot sleep yet), maybe try unwinding with a book or movie, or go for a walk etc. |
