It's so ironic to read a story like this, because I have been through this with my best friend. We liked each other for three years, and for three years he didn't try anything because he didn't want to risk our friendship. What's even funnier is that he watched his father take his own life and, like Alexis, has always been broken and weak because of it.
It really is something special to read a story that you feel like you've lived. But what's even more amazing is when the story is so wonderfully written. I think I'm having some sort of breakdown, because I feel like these two characters are real people- people I've known my entire life, people I've grown up with. The love these two have for each other is so honest and unconditional. This is a truly intimate story...you feel every emotion the character feels. This is the kind of author that can play with your head and wrap you around their fingers through their writing.
